KindredMind
When someone lives with dementia, anxiety doesn't follow a schedule. They call looking for a familiar voice, the same question over and over, at 2am, at dinner, mid-meeting. That call matters. So does the caregiver who can't always answer. KindredMind responds in the caregiver's own cloned voice, calm, familiar, present. Built in Canada by a caregiver, grounded in simulated presence therapy and Alzheimer Society of Canada guidelines. The caregiver is still there, supported and amplified.

Overview
What is KindredMind?
KindredMind is a Canadian AI voice companion for families navigating dementia care and Alzheimer's caregiving. When a loved one living with dementia calls looking for reassurance, KindredMind answers in the family caregiver's own cloned voice, calm, familiar, and present, because the caregiver cannot always be available to answer every call. KindredMind is built around a knowledge base that the caregiver creates and controls. The caregiver defines what their loved one is told, how conversations are handled, and what topics are addressed. The platform is privacy first, with no personal health information shared outside the family. The caregiver retains full control at every stage, from voice setup to conversation guidelines to ongoing adjustments. Founded in Toronto, Ontario by Kirstin Thomas, a dementia family caregiver whose mother lives with frontotemporal dementia, KindredMind was built from lived caregiving experience. The product addresses one of the most common and exhausting challenges in memory care: repetitive distress calls. Rather than redirecting or distracting the person living with dementia, KindredMind provides the familiar voice they are looking for, reducing caregiver burnout while preserving the dignity of the person with dementia. KindredMind is grounded in simulated presence therapy and Alzheimer Society of Canada communication guidelines for dementia care. It is available to family caregivers across Canada and the United States, including families managing care at home and families with loved ones in memory care facilities. Strong Ventures Inc., the legal entity behind KindredMind, is headquartered in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

How to use KindredMind?
Start by recording a short 15 minute voice session. KindredMind clones the caregiver's voice and provisions a dedicated phone number. The loved one saves it under the caregiver's name so every call feels like calling them directly. The caregiver then builds a personalized knowledge base covering who their loved one is as a person, their family history, daily routine, recurring questions and desired answers, words and topics to avoid, and anything else that matters. The knowledge base can be updated at any time between calls. KindredMind answers every call in the caregiver's cloned voice, working entirely from the knowledge base. Full call transcripts are available after every call. Flagged moments of distress trigger an immediate alert, with the option to join the call live. The Living Voice clone continues to refine itself quietly in the background from short natural moments of speech, no extra recording required, becoming more accurate over time and reaching approximately 90% fidelity. The caregiver controls availability through two modes: Cover for me, where KindredMind answers first, and I am here, where calls ring through to the caregiver's real number first with KindredMind as fallback.
